The team of the Secretary General (secgen@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for Internal Management
  • The director of internal management should be my ‘right-hand’ and should be able to assist me with my Secretary General duties. More specifically: releasing the monthly newsletter,  helping me with keeping the network united by establishing regular meetings with the local officers, hosting some workshops at the NCM, helping me with organizing the NCM, collecting data where needed (example: State of the Network) and acting as an assistant (helping with deadlines and such). No previous ELSA knowledge required, just dedication and motivation! 
  • Skill requirements:
    • Good organisation (everything must be on point),
    • Professionalism and dilligence (there is no room for tardiness or forgetfulness).
  • Language requirements:
    • English (B2 level minimum).

2. Director for Alumni

  • The director for Alumni should help me establish and maintain communication with the alumni network, as well as aid with organizing events in their interest and establish the first National Trainers’ Pool.  The tasks include: regularly communicating with the people of the alumni network by email/calls where needed, conducting research into who belongs to the alumni network/could be a potential trainer and engage with them, helping to put together events for the Alumni and establish connections with future ELSA the Netherlands trainers. No previous ELSA knowledge required, just willingness to learn and dedication! 
  • Skill requirements:  
    • Organization (everything must be on point),
    • Professionalism and diligence.
  • Language requirements:
    • English (B2 level minimum),
    • Knowledge of the Dutch language (the Alumni network is almost entirely made up of Dutch people; you must speak the language well enough to be able to communicate with them effectively).

The team of the Treasurer (treasurer@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for Acquisitions (2 vacancies)
  • As the Director for Aquisitions, you will be tasked with helping the acquisition committee in the process of acquiring sponsors, developing sponsorship packages in partnership with the marketing committee , while also keeping in touch with our Dutch partners and sponsors. You will gain valuable experience in regards to the acquisition process while also be part of the biggest law students’ organization in Europe.

    • Dutch (optional but a strong plus).

The team of the Vice President for Marketing (marketing@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for Graphic Design
  • As a Director for Graphic Design you will help create posters/videos/etc. together with the national Vice President for Marketing. On top of that, you will help redesign the official website of ELSA the Netherlands and create a database of sample designs, which will serve as a learning pool for the local marketeers.
  • Skill requirements:
    • Creativity,
    • Inventiveness,
    • Experience with any graphic programme (ideally Adobe Photoshop).
  • Language requirements:
    • English (B2 level minimum),
    • The knowledge of other lanaguges is always appreciated!

2. Director for Marketing Strategy Development

  • As  a Director for Marketing Strategy Development you will brainstorm together with the Vice President for Marketing the ideas for new marketing strategies and sponsor acquisition. Depending on the situation and your own predispositions, you might aid the VP with other tasks.

3. Director for Social Media

  • As a Director for Social Media you will help supervise and bolster the social media accounts of ELSA the Netherlands. You will ensure that posts are published regularly and that they reach the target audience. You will help decide which local events deserve a weekly shoutout and who from our alumni deserves to be commemorated on our platforms. You will help write posts, pick hashtags and respond to our followers.
  • Skill requirements:
    • Diligence,
    • Experience with running social media platforms,
    • Creativity.
  • Language requirements:
    • English (B2 level minimum),
    • The knowledge of other lanaguges is always appreciated, especially Dutch!

The team of the Vice President for Seminars and Conferences (seminarsconferences@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director in Charge of the BENELUX Conference
  • As a Director in Charge of the BENELUX Conference, you will have the oppprtunity to work on one of the most important and successful conferences, as BENELUX Conference is a well-known event not only for all the members of ELSA, but also for the academic speakers that join us each year!
  • Skill requirements:
    • Event planning,
    • Critical thinking,
    • Creativity,
    • Great comprehension of the basic information of what ELSA is and how events are organized.
  • Language requirements:
    • English (B2 level minimum),
    • Intermediate French (B1 level minimum).

2. Director for Seminars and Conferences

  • As a Director for Seminars and Conferences of ELSA the Netherlands you will be working with our national S&Cer to organize amazing events and experience all that this great student association has to offer (including taking an active part in the preparation for NCMs and much more ).

  • Language requirements:
    • Advanced English (required),
    • Conversational level of Dutch (preferred, but is not a prerequisite).

The team of the Vice President for Academic Activities (academicactivities@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for Academic Activities
  • Director for Academic Activities has a key role in the organization of ELSA the Netherlands Academic Competitions and Professional Development activities. In 2020-2021 the tasks include e.g. supporting the preparation, partner acquisition, and organization of a national round of the Client Interview Competition (CIC), helping the Local Groups in organizing local rounds of the CIC, and supporting the preparation and organization of legal workshops with different partners.

2. Director for Advocacy

  • Director for Advocacy is in charge of the implementation of the new ELSA Rule of Law Education Campaign (ROLE) in the Netherlands. They also have a supporting role in the organization of ELSA Day advocacy activities on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights and the International Focus Programme (IFP) activities on Law and Technology.

The team of the Vice President for Moot Court Competitions (mootcourts@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for the National Moot Court Competitions
  • As Director for the National Moot Court Competitions, you will be in charge of coordinating all aspects that factor into the organization of a Moot Court. These include logistics, financing, participant management, and many more tasks.

2. Director for the National ENC round

  • ENC is short for the ELSA Negotiation Competition. It involves two teams negotiating a fictitious case while judged by a jury of legal professionals. As the Director for the National ENC Round, you will be in charge of coordinating all aspects that factor into the organization of a Moot Court. These include logistics, financing, participant management, and many more tasks. We expect you to:

The team of the Vice President for STEP (Student Trainee Exchange Programme) (stepnl@nl.elsa.org)

  1. Director for STEP Expansion
  • As the director for STEP Expansion for ELSA the Netherlands, you will be working to gain partnerships for traineeships with law firms or other institutions for STEP. Your task would be to approach law firms or institutions for traineeships and verify the law firms approached by local groups.

    • Good writing skills.
  • Language requirements:

    • A Dutch-speaking candidate would be preferred (B2 level minimum).

2. Director for STEP Communications

  • As the director for STEP Communication for ELSA the Netherlands, you will mostly be marketing STEP program to students through the use of STEP online marketing kits. You will also be matching the applications with the STEP traineeship providers and providing assistance to trainees coming to the Netherlands from abroad.

3. Director for STEP Assistance

  • As the director for STEP Assistance for ELSA the Netherlands, you will be assisting the applicants during the process of applications, maintaining overall communications and information database. You will also be supervising the STEP calendar and supporting local STEP Officers through regular contacts, providing information and improving the application procedure in general.
